The region’s geology provided our vineyard with a variety of different soil structures, predominantly clay, brick earth and gravel, but also porphyry composites. What appeared to be a great challenge at the beginning, turned out to be a unique opportunity to stand out from our competitors. As a consequence, all those years we planted appropriate and suitable one year old vines, so that today the grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot and Ancellotta are at home in Rietine enabling us to produce wines of exceptional quality and a plenitude of facets.
The southern orientation of the vineyard ensures perfect sun exposition. Vines cultivated in hectares, twelve of which in vines, system – the most commonly used system in Europe
